Experience

Earth Observation Developer
Jun 2023 – Present Dublin, Ireland
Worked on the development and implementation of object detection, pixel classification, time series analysis, remote sensing algorithms and data processes within Earth Observation and Agriculture-related projects, such as land cover and event classification ML techniques and end-to-end processing chains for the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Led the creation of a vegetation detection demonstrator app for the CAMEO Earth Observation platform. Gained an experience of working within an established medium-sized enterprise, direct interaction with clients and tight collaboration with other SMEs on large long-term projects.

GIS/R&D Data Scientist
Dec 2020 – Feb 2023 Dublin, Ireland
Led GIS and geospatial related data science department of FinTech/property valuation startup. Responsible for building and maintaining ETL pipelines, design of databases and creation of advanced software (Python) solutions to ingest various structured and unstructured data. Supported a small team of engineers to productionize solutions and deploy them on AWS Cloud, as well as to run machine learning models on SageMaker. Worked on R&D projects and cost-and-return analysis. I was very flexible and achieved great results with simple tools and scarce resources, always met deadlines and had a proven track of providing scalable and cost-effective solutions.

Researcher
Apr 2019 – Nov 2020 Kiel, Germany
Analyzed geospatial and geophysical datasets, performed scientific programming and computing tasks, delivered a scientific software package (used by European Space Agency) to teach doctoral students how to work with satellite magnetic data.

Researcher
Apr 2017 – Mar 2019 Dublin, Ireland
Performed scientific programming tasks, participated in international conferences, analyzed structured and unstructured data, including geospatial datasets. Delivered a software package LITMOD3D 3.0 (FORTRAN), used for numerical physical modeling by Equinor (former Statoil).

Research Assistant
Sep 2012 – Dec 2012 Munich, Germany
Created Python software for large scale signal processing on supercomputers (SuperMUC).

Education

PhD in Geophysics
Nov 2013 – Jan 2017 Trondheim, Norway
Participated in the European Space Agency SWARM satellite project, analyzed satellite data, performed numerical modeling, studied inversion and optimization mathematical theory.

MSc in Geophysics
Oct 2011 – Oct 2013 Munich, Germany
Developed signal processing Python-based tools for supercomputers to analyze large seismic datasets to detect anomalies deep within the Earth.

BSc in Applied Mathematics and Physics
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT)
Sep 2007 – Aug 2011 Moscow, Russian Federation
Scientific programming, numerical and statistical modeling of physical processes (C/C++).
